Intermittent rain, said the forecast; and intermittent rain, suggested the clouds above. Came the break, and my hope that I could dash quickly to the mall before it closed without getting soaked.

Halfway there I saw the flash of lightning, bright across the sky right in front of me. I asked, please, for five more minutes of no rain.

I received it, to the second.

Only problem was: the rest of that walk took eight minutes. When I arrived, I was absolutely drenched.

Be careful what you wish for: for you will get it.
