Lay not on any soul a load that you would not wish to be laid upon you.
Treat not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful and desire not for anyone the things you would not desire for yourself.
Do not do to others what would cause pain if done to you.
What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour.
Do not do unto others whatever is injurious to yourself.

In everything, do to others as you would have them do to you.
One should treat all creatures in the world as one would like to be treated.
One version of the universal Golden Rule requires positive action, defined by what one oneself would see as positive. The other discourages negative action, defined by what one oneself would not wish to experience.
Unless all people are alike in their likes and dislikes: who is to define what is to be the universal good?
Smile of the day:
A boy was watching his father, a pastor, write a sermon. "How do you know what to say?" he asked.
"Why, God tells me."
"Oh. Then why do you keep crossing things out?"
